Young Voices from Gagauzia Reach the Moldovan Parliament

On June 18, dozens of young people from the Gagauz Autonomous Region, part of the “Gagauzia People’s Assembly Simulator” project, visited the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova for a unique hands-on experience in democratic learning.

Welcomed by MP Vitali Gavrouc, the participants explored the legislative process, how laws are drafted and adopted, the role of MPs, and how civic engagement can influence national decisions.

This visit was the highlight of an educational initiative that combines training sessions, legislative simulations, and the drafting of a symbolic declaration. Its goal is to strengthen democratic culture in Gagauzia and foster dialogue between young people and public institutions.

During their time in Parliament, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and better understand how grassroots initiatives can turn into real public policies.

This symbolic encounter proves that the youth of Gagauzia are not just observers—they are active citizens, ready to take part in building Moldova’s democratic future.
