WE ARE MOLDOVA!

The “We Are Moldova” project aims to reduce social polarization and strengthen trust among diverse ethnic groups in the country, including Moldovans/Romanians, Gagauz, Bulgarians, Ukrainians, and Roma, through media campaigns, educational initiatives, and direct community engagement. By creating meaningful points of contact between people, the project seeks to break down stereotypes and encourage citizen participation in the country’s democratic life.

The launch event will be a National Forum of Ethnic Minorities in Chișinău with 180 participants, bringing together representatives of ethnic communities, authorities, and international partners. The forum will include discussions on social cohesion, the role of ethnic communities in regional development, and partnerships between authorities and minorities, as well as case sessions showcasing successful integration examples from Gagauzia, Taraclia, and northern Moldova.

In parallel, the national media campaign “We Are Moldova – Stories of Cohesion” will run for ten months, presenting real stories of cooperation and support among different ethnic groups. The project will also include the “50 Young Ambassadors of Social Cohesion” program, training young leaders from ethnic communities and the Moldovan majority to promote unity, inclusion, and active citizenship.

Additionally, the “We Are Moldova – Open Us” initiative will organize interethnic exchange visits between minority communities and predominantly monoethnic villages. Activities will include cultural presentations, craft and cooking workshops, informational sessions, and joint community projects, contributing to the building of trust and lasting personal relationships between people.
