Strengthening the Response to Disinformation, Propaganda, and Fake News in Ethnic Communities of Moldova in the Context of the 2025 Parliamentary Elections

The project focuses on supporting communities in Gagauzia, Taraclia, Edineț, and Rîșcani, which are particularly exposed to disinformation and hate speech. Through media campaigns with influencers in minority languages, educational videos, weekly fact-checking segments, and dissemination via regional press, social networks, and Moldova 1 TV, the initiative counters propaganda and fosters critical thinking.
A central element is the “EU4Minorities” campaign, featuring 50 videos highlighting EU-funded projects in minority regions, demonstrating tangible benefits of European integration. In addition, seven public dialogues with experts will be held in communities such as Comrat, Ceadîr-Lunga, Edineț, and Rîșcani, creating open spaces for debate and civic engagement.
The expected outcome is the transformation of minority citizens from passive consumers of propaganda into active participants in democratic life, with greater trust in institutions and stronger critical thinking skills.
