Media Literacy and Combating Disinformation among the Bulgarian Community in Moldova
The aim of this project is to increase the community’s resilience against propaganda and disinformation through media education and creative content in Bulgarian. The project will be implemented in Taraclia, Gagauzia, and Chișinău municipality, involving schools, universities, and youth centers with Bulgarian-language instruction.
Key activities include producing 10 educational videos on disinformation and propaganda, creating the first educational comic in Bulgarian in Moldova, and organizing 10 school hackathons focused on media education. Materials will be distributed in print and digital formats, as well as via national television and online platforms, ensuring broad community impact.
The project will directly reach approximately 500 students and 20 teachers, and indirectly benefit over 50,000 members of the Bulgarian community in Moldova by providing access to educational media materials and digital resources. Through interactive methods and engaging content, young people will develop critical thinking skills, the ability to identify false news, and responsible social media use, while strengthening cultural and linguistic identity.
ICPMN has the operational, financial, and technical capacity to implement the project, with a stable team, local volunteers, full IT infrastructure, and proven experience in national and international projects. Partnerships with educational institutions and local media will ensure sustainability and visibility of results, contributing to the development of an informed, active, and resilient community.
